“In Other Words presents Reel Feminism” is a monthly film series hosted at the Clinton Street Theater!

The APRIL 2014 screening is: SIREN SPIRITS

Tickets are sliding scale, starting at $5. Anything over $5 directly benefits In Other Words Feminist Community Center.

SIREN SPIRITS (1994) is a compilation of 4 short films.

Ngozi Onwurah’s WHITE MEN ARE CRACKING UP uses a murder mystery to explore the legacies of British colonialism and the exoticization of Black women.

Pratibha Parmar directed MEMSAHIB RITA to chronicle the internal culture clash suffered by a London girl with a British mother and a Sri Lankan father.

Dani Williamson’s GET ME TO THE CREMATORIUM ON TIME is a moving portrait of undying love and grief.

Frances-Anne Solomon’s BIDESHI follows a comatose man whose soul is stuck in a dark tunnel near death until he is able to resolve his conflict with his daughter.
