You won’t want to miss this month’s Bus Riders Unite meeting: we’ll have a new member orientation starting at 5pm, so if you haven’t had a chance to make it to a meeting before and are feeling a little scared (it’s okay, we’ve all been the new kid before), please join BRU leaders as they welcome you into the fold.
This month’s regular meeting starts at 6pm and we’ll be making BRU history with the first ever BRU Leadership Committee nominations! Our organization is run by and comprised of transit-dependent people who adhere to our leadership principles:
“Bus Riders Unite values the diverse cultures, backgrounds, experiences, and abilities of all of our members. We aim to build a democratic, multi-lingual, multiracial, all-inclusive community-based organization. Our leaders are committed to lifting up the voices of transit dependent people and people whose voices are not commonly heard.”
We want YOU to be a leader in your community. As a transit rider, YOU are the expert on rider issues, and we need your voice, leadership and vision. Come to the October meeting and nominate yourself or another member for a position on the Leadership Committee.
Read more about the Leadership Committee, nominations and elections as described in our Bus Riders Unite Organizational Structure. Elections will be held at the November membership gathering.
