Join the WRC’s Women of Color Action Team and the MCC’s Reflect & Connect Series to watch this critical film about sexual violence in the African American community. In this film Aishah Shahidah Simmons confronts racial, gender, and sexual oppression, and its violent manifestations. This film is a Black feminist/womanist educational organizing tool which is being used in the global movement to end violence against women and children. After the film showing our speakers will facilitate a discussion on the issues. This event is free and open to the public.
Speakers: Renee Mitchell (Co-founder of the Healing Roots Center), Diana Camarillo (Sexual Violence Program Coordinator with the Oregon Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence) and Marianne Mulumba (Association of African Students President at PSU).
